HM Government White Paper


The Challenge:

To publish the very first government white paper for the newly elected coalition government. Titled: The natural choice: Securing the value of nature.

The Diagnosis:

This was the first white paper on the natural environment for over 20 years and also the first white paper the new government would be judged on. Accuracy was therefore of the utmost importance. This was to be our greatest test, due to the project being both substantial in size and, dependent on a fast turnaround time (2 weeks).

The Creative Solution:

The design incorporated the colours of nature: Greens and blues. We also used striking photographs that depicted the beauty of the natural environment, and where possible showed people demonstrating natures benefits. Undeniably, the remainder of the creative solution came down to effective project management, hard work and attention to detail.

The Results:

The design was extremely well received and despite being pushed to the absolute limit in terms of turnaround time, we met the deadline without any compromise to accuracy. The paper proved to be a great success and an excellent reflection on the new government.
